  Band Directors Report

Update Jan 26, 2010

Winter concerts were very successful. The Jazz Band/Orchestra concert was very well received. Mr. Robertson thanks Wendy Rice for making a skirt for one of the members.

Pep band has also been going very well. Kids are enjoying the music and supporting the basketball teams.

Seventeen members of the Jazz Band will be attending the Washington State Music Educators conference, February 12 -15. The conference is entitled, ‘Sowing the Seeds’. The Jazz Band was chosen to play for a clinic, ‘It doesn’t Sound Bad but it Could Sound Better’.

The Redmond ‘Marching Band’ has been asked to play at the Redmond Market on May 1 st .  Mr. Robertson mentioned to the organizers that Redmond doesn’t have a ‘Marching Band’ but could provide 10-20 kids. He will ask kids to sign up for this event.

Mr. Robertson reports that he will have a student teacher (Arne Phillips) until approximately mid-March. In high school Mr. Phillips, played trumpet and was a drum major. He’ll be working with both the band and choir.
