2007-2008 Redmond High School Band Scholarships Scholarship AwardThe Redmond Mustang Band Boosters award up to three $700 scholarships to graduating seniors at the final band concert May 28th. Eligibility All students who meet the following mandatory requirements will be considered:
Application Process Application packages available March 17, 2008 Application package submitted (postmarked by this date) April 25, 2008 Selection committee meets May 2008 Final RHS band concert - Scholarships awarded May 28, 2008 Selection Process A selection committee, comprised of Redmond Mustang Band Boosters who are parents of current Redmond High School non-senior band members, will determine scholarship winners. The selection committee chairperson will screen each application package for eligibility based on the above criteria. Essay questions and letter of recommendation will be coded and copied for a blind review by the selection committee. Results of the blind review will be combined with the input from the Redmond High School Band Director to determine scholarship award winners. Selection Criteria The selection committee will look at the contributions the
applicant has made to the Redmond High School Band Program (80%), and
contributions to RHS (10%) and the community (10%). Contributions to the Redmond
High School Band Program may include musical achievement, participation,
leadership, or inspiration. Instructions Please review the application package in its entirety and follow these instructions. - Limit your response to a single page per essay question. It would be helpful if you do not include your name or instrument(s) played in your essays. Computer generated responses are preferred, but not mandatory. Application materials are available online at redmondmustangbandboosters.org for your convenience. - The letter of recommendation should be from an appropriate adult, not an immediate family member, who can comment on your contributions to Redmond High School and/or the community. The person providing the recommendation must submit it separately and have it postmarked by April 20, 2008. - Completed application packages must be postmarked by April 20, 2008. Do not deliver applications to RHS!
